Performers' Links

We strive to maintain a high quality standard for our 2nd Saturday ART NIGHT performers.
ARE YOU LOOKING FOR A NEW PERFORMANCE ACT FOR OCCASION?

We invite you to look over our PERFORMERS' LINK PAGE and contact one of our 2nd Saturday ART NIGHT performance groups. On our page you'll find Grammy nominees (and at least one Grammy Winner), folks who've played large concert venues, mainstage festival performers. Some are Big Time Folks and some are Long-Time Local Folks who have been playing around here for years and have earned excellent reviews.  Plus, we are working to feature some of our lesser known talent, who are already getting good attention.

ARE YOU A PERFORMER, WHO IS INTERESTED IN BEING A PART OF ART NIGHT?
You can contact us to chat about a possible audition.
We welcome all genres of performance that are suitable for our format. Most of our downtown spots can accommodate trios, and we have a couple of spots that can accommodate large ensembles. We want visitors AND locals to go home saying, "That was great! Sonora has so much talent!"
(Because it DOES!)

Acoustic Guitar

After graduating from Columbia College, Will received a scholarship to attend the School of Music at San Francisco State University where he completed a Bachelor’s degree in classical guitar performance.

Over the years, Will has studied with local guitarist Keith Evans, retired Columbia College professor John Carter, and San Francisco Conservatory professor Lawrence Ferrara.

Today, he continues to perform in Tuolumne County and beyond while passing on a love of music to private guitar students in his studio.
Will’s globally-informed style reflects the diverse nature of the guitar. A grounding in classical technique has allowed him to expand his repertoire beyond traditional guitar works to include a blend of American jazz, gypsy swing, and Brazilian folk styles

Traditional American Folk Music

Enjoy music by Sandy Shoor, an American Roots folk singer who performed for many years with the storied Pete Seeger, America's face of the 1960's folk music era. "Sandy not only sang with Pete, but also got him involved in the Hudson River Clean-Up Project where Seeger sailed on the Clearwater Sloop to bring public awareness about the historic river's needs,"  Shoor recently retired from his Upstate New York teaching career, and now resides in Twain Harte. "I love coming out to play," Shoor quipped. "First and foremost, it's about sharing your music and encouraging others to join in.  I learned that from Pete."
